Twelve innings to get the second win of the year, just another day for the Cougars. The Bees helped again with a lot of walks, two in the twelvth to help decide the game.
With one out in the twelvth, Chris Tritle walked. followed by Luis Perez who also walked. Kory Wayment then struck out for the second out. Luke Appert doubled to right to score both Tritle and Perez. Appert would be out trying to stretch it to to a triple. In the bottom of the inning, Jairo Garcia came on to close things out. He walked the first hitter he faced Bryan Graham. Adam Donachie then struck out looking. Anibal Fgueroa then pitch hit for Jeff Barry and struck out for the second out. Chris Lubanski would be out on a droped third strike, throw to first to end the game.
Brad Knox started for the Cougars and pitched six innings, were he had to get out of a couple of jams. In the first he had one out and would give up a bunt single to Angel Sanchez. Sanchez then stole second. Mitch Maier then walked. Maier would be caught off of second base, with Sanchez getting to third on the play. Brian McFall then lined out to center to end the inning.
After that Knox would give up a two out double in the third, but Chris Lubanski tried to get a triple and would be out to end the inning. Brad gave up single runs in the fourth and fifth, but would end his outing by retiring the final four Bees he faced.
Meanwhile, the Cougars got a walk in the first, but that would be erased by a double play to end the inning. In the second Dustin Majewski reached on a two out error, but would be caught steal third. In the fourth with a leadoff walk by Brian Ingram. A fielder's choice by Appert, then Appert getting caught trying to steal second. Castillo then doubled to left, that wouldve scored at least one run, but sense Appert was caught stealing, no runs. Eddie Kim then was caught looking.
The Bees would score against Knox in the fourth with one out. Maier triple just over centerfielder Majewski. Two pitches later he would walk home on a wild pitch to break the tie. Brian McFall then struck out on the next pitch after the wild one. Kila Kaaihue grounded out to first to end the inning.
With one out in the fifth, Bryan Graham reached on a two base error by shortstop Ingram. Adam Donachie then walked. A wild pitch would move both runners along a base. Jeff Barry then struck out for the second out. Chris Lubanski was intentionally walked to load the bases. A wild pitch would bring Graham home. Angel Sanchez struck out to end the inning.
Brian Ingram would walk with one out in the sixth. Luke Appert ehn hit a homer to right. David Castillo then flied to center. Eddie Kim singled to first. Brian Snyder struck out to end the inning.
The Cougars would make a pitching change in the seventh and bring in Dan Fyvie. With one out Graham singled to right. Donachie then singled to left to move Graham to second. Barry then struck out looking. Lubanski was intentionally walked again. This would load the bases. Angel Sanchez would reach on a fielder's choice, with Lubanski being out at second to end the inning.
To lead off the eighth for the Bees, Mitch Maier would hit a homer down the right field line. Brian McFall then doubled down the right field line. Kila Kaaihue tried to sweeze bunt, he missed the ball and McFall would be toast on his way home. The Cougars then made a pitching change to bring in J.R. Pickens in place of Adiel Sanchez. Adam Keim would pop out to short to end the inning.
Brian Snyder doubled to right with one out in the ninth. Majewski then singled up the middle to score Snyder to tie the score at three. The Bees then made a pitching change and brought in Alex Encarnacion. He would strike out David Harriman and Danny Gibbons to end the inning.

Luke Appert's line drive skimmed just inside the right field line, rolling into the corner, deep enough to drive home Luis Perez and Chris Tritle.
The two 13th innings runs were just enough to send the Kane County Cougars past the Burlington Bees 5-3 in the Class A Midwest League game Friday at Community Field.
The ball snuck by because of consecutive walks that placed Peres and Tritle on first and second base. That second walked pulled first baseman Kila Kaaihue off the line.
"When you have just a man on first base, we had the line gaurded there and the ball dosen't get by. But now with a guy on second, we play off the line a little but and it get by," said Burlington manager Jim Gabella, "That's baseball."
"That was a fun ball game. Wish we would have won, but still it was fun,"
The Cougars knotted the game in the ninth inning, with one out. Dustin Majewski's single up the middle sent home Brian Snyder, who had doubled. That run came a half an inning after Mitch Maier broke a 2-2 tie with a leadoff home run, his first as a Burlington Bee.
The Bees stayed in the game despite three fielding errors and several baserunning errors. In the eighth, Brian McFall followed, Maier's home run with a double. Kaaihue bunted McFall to third with one out. But on the first pitch to Adam Keim, McFall got caught between third base and home and then Keim lined out to short to end the threat.
Two innings later, Chris Lubanski was hit by a pitch but was caught between first and second. The mistake was costly as Angel Sanchez followed with a single. Any scoring threat then ended when Maier lined out to first and Sanchez was caught off the base.
In the second inning Lubanski doubled to centerfield but was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a triple.
"As many mistakes as we made, we're going to be a better team because of them," Gabella said, "Our baserunning was not real good today. But that's how young players learn. That's something we tell them, Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Just learn from it, It's not a problem if they make them today. The problem comes if we continue to make those. In another three weeks if we continue to make them, then I'll be concerned."
Even with the miscues, the Bees led, 1-0, 2-0 before yeilding a two run home run in the sixth. They took the lead again before Kane County knotted the game again.
"They have a good team and every inning but two innings we were right with them. Two innings (Thursday), they scored some runs but we've been with them ever since," Gabella said. "That tells a lot about our guys. We'll be better because of this game."
Burlington scored it's first two runs on wild pitches by Cougars starter Brad Knox, who had three wild pitches on the night.
Six Kane County pitcher combined for 13 strikeouts while Bees' Greg Atencio, John Gragg, Alexis Encarnacion and Dusty Dossett tallied nine strikeouts. All 10 pitchers combined for just 10 walks.
