Right hander Luis Pena shut out the Fort Wayne Wizards through the first five innings as the Beloit Snappers won Sunday's Midwest League game, 5-3 at Memorial Stadium.
Pena scattered six hits through 5 2/3 innings, allowing one earned run, three walks and striking out a batter.
Catcher Lou Palmisano hit a two run single in the sixth inning to give the Snappers their biggest lead at 5-0.
The Wizards (2-8) slowly cut into Beloit's lead with runs in the bottom of the sixth, eighth and ninth innings. Fort Wayne had 13 hits, but also stranded 13 baserunners.
