The South Bend SilverHawks utilized the long ball Thursday to get back on the winning track.

Augie Murillo and Alex Frazier each blasted home runs to help South Bend to a 5-0 blanking of the West Michigan WhiteCaps in Midwest League baseball action.

Murillo's shot down the left field line to open the eighth inning snapped a scoreless game and started the Hawks (11-3) on their way to a four run burst.

Frazier deposited his third home run of the season in the ninth inning to cap the scoring and propel South Bend to it's fifth win in it's last seven games.

The quartest of Jared Liebeck, Daniel Mosquea, Ryan Coffin and Alex Cremidan combined to limit the WhiteCaps to seven hits.

The left hander Mosquea earned his first win by allowing two hits with one strikeout over two innings.

Michael Goss added a two run single during the big eighth inning while Murillo and Miguel Montero chipped in two hits each for the Hawks.
